Adscano vs Bitly

Bitly alternative for QR codes on print and outdoor ads

Bitly is mainly a link management tool with QR codes and simple landing pages alongside. Adscano is built for printed and outdoor ads: a code per placement, a lead form, and results per ad.

Facts about Bitly come from its own pages, checked October 2026. Prices and features change, so confirm on its site before you decide.

Which one should you choose?

Bitly is the better choice if

  • Short links are your main job, and QR codes are occasional.
  • You want branded links on your own domain. Its Growth plan includes a custom domain.
  • You need a few codes on a tight budget. Core is listed at $10 a month, billed annually.

Adscano is the better choice if

  • You want a lead form behind the code, with each lead credited to its ad. Bitly's pricing page doesn't list lead forms.
  • You run many placements. Bitly's plans list 5 to 200 new QR codes a month, and Adscano's paid plans don't limit placements.
  • You want city and device data below the top tier. Bitly lists city-level and device data on Premium.

How they differ in practice

Bitly's strength is links: short links, branded domains and link analytics across many channels. If your QR codes sit alongside a large volume of links, keeping them all in one tool makes sense.

Adscano doesn't shorten links for general use. It starts from the printed ad: you make a campaign, add a placement for each paper, site or flyer batch, and every code opens the same mobile page with a lead form. The result you read is leads per ad.

One practical difference for print: Bitly's plans count QR codes per month, which matters if you print a separate code for every edition or site. Adscano's paid plans cap scans, with no cap on placements.

FAQ

Common questions

Can Bitly QR codes be changed after printing?

Its QR code page says you can redirect a QR code to a new URL at any time, and its pricing page lists link and QR code redirects from Core upward. Adscano codes can also be edited after printing, on every plan.

Does Bitly have landing pages?

Yes. Its pricing page lists 2 to 20 custom landing pages depending on the plan. Adscano builds one mobile page with a lead form for each campaign.

Is Adscano a link shortener?

No. Each placement gets its own link, but Adscano isn't built for general link management. Bitly is the better tool for that.

Which should an agency use?

For offline campaigns run for clients, Adscano's Agency plan adds up to 10 client brands, client logins, rate cards and white-label reports. Bitly's pricing page mentions multiple users and group permissions on Enterprise, so ask them what suits your setup.
